I believe all clients hold the key to their own success and can be guided to that end in a safe, trusting, honest environment. Building relationship and skills for growth, understanding and healing are among my goals in therapy. My personal journey through adoption, trauma, abuse, raising a child with mental health concerns, spiritual enlightenment, natural mental health, divorce, and remarriage have become the gifts I share though therapy. I believe the keys essential to reaching any goal lies within each of us believing in ourselves and knowing that someone also believes in us.
I help couples, individuals and employees who want change to start today! Relationships go through ups and downs as does our work satisfaction, and our personal wellness can make a difference. If you want renewed hope and a better feeling in all your relationships and endeavors, I can help you regain everything you need to be happy again. You're not alone. You can recognize the source of your happiness, realign and get back on track. Rekindle your good feelings, enjoy life, and experience relationship success and personal satisfaction at home and work.

Relationships can be the most important things in our lives and they can also be our greatest struggles. Sex is another important topic-our own sexual selves as well as our sexual relationships with others. But we don't always have a lot of places to talk about these important issues. This is why I specialize in relationship and sex therapy. I am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I offer video appointments (Telemental Health) and in-person appointments at my Bloomington, MN office.
I am a sex and gender therapist. My clinical focus places a heavy emphasis on the impact various systems have on a person. I use a person centered approach. I am actively working on completing my sex therapy certification through AASECT and have trained with highly respected local sex therapists.

Hello! Considering therapy can be the first step in recovery, healing, and meeting our personal goals. Congratulations on taking that first step! I prioritize establishing a space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts, emotions, and passions without having to leave your home. Together, we will develop a plan that best meets your needs and utilize a team approach to achieve your goals.
With a combination of humor, wisdom, metaphors and professional experience, I enjoy working with folks to help them live a more fulfilled life. I work together with my clients to create a safe environment, where they are encouraged to take risks and explore the challenges they are facing. My goal is to help clients understand and address the root causes of the issues they are facing, so problems do not continue to resurface. I enjoy working with adults and young adults 18 yrs and older. My direct voice mail is: 763-234-3728.
I believe that healing is a communal process and am here to hold space with you on your journey to find fulfilling relationships with both yourself and others. I work in the trans and queer community and am especially passionate about issues relating to disordered eating, exercise, and body image. Together we will explore what's "beneath" the eating disorder behaviors, acknowledge the societal systems that often affect the relationship with the body, and find routes of healing that feel genuine to you. My work with clients often includes creating rituals, spiritual practices, and embracing metaphors and storytelling.
Through the process of psychotherapy, I work together with my clients to help them: develop a better understanding of their histories, triggers and patterns in order to get unstuck and create new endings to old stories; build coping skills and capacity for resiliency in order to face stressors and fears that are blocking growth; learn to live authentically in order to create a life congruent with what matters to them. I feel passionate about my work. I always hope to help people realize their worth and competency so they can feel empowered to take charge of their lives and live with more purpose and fulfillment.
My approach is simple. I see my role as a partner in a process that is the pursuit of healing and restoration. While I have certain professional expertise, every client is an expert about his/her/their own life. I am intentionally client-centered, strengths based and trauma-informed. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my primary means of intervention which includes an eclectic blend of Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Humanistic and other modalities. Assigned homework is common and clients participate in the development of activities that support clearly identified treatment plan goals.
Congratulations on your first step towards healing and growth. The thought of therapy can be overwhelming and empowering at the same time. Life is full of transitions, some of them are by our choice, others are imposed on us. I have had the privilege of hearing peoples stories and helping them gain insight and tools along their journey to a more satisfying sense of self and life.
I think effective therapy begins with empathy and authenticity. Empathy means I’m going to really hear you. I create a welcoming and safe place where you can share and unload your heavy emotional burdens - where you can be honest about your struggles and your hopes - where we can talk honestly and frankly about meaningful solutions.
It is an honor and a privilege to walk with clients as they navigate the challenges and joys of life. Anna believes that it is important to meet people where they are, and work with clients to create the kind of life they find fulfilling. Clients come to therapy for a variety of reasons, some of which include depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, life transitions and changes, family and relational concerns, substance abuse, grief and loss, body image issues, need for coping strategies to manage stress, and many other reasons. Therapy can be a safe space to explore concerns, to grow, and to heal.
Seeking help from a therapist can be a difficult decision. Successful therapy is highly based on the client-therapist relationship as well as openness to change. I have a warm eclectic style that creates a trusting therapeutic environment. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families to address unhealthy patterns that keep them stuck in emotional distress and unfulfilling relationships. I treat a variety of issues including trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, spiritual and relationship issues.
Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, but I would be delighted to partner with you on your journey of healing and self-exploration. I believe therapy is meant to be used as a time to explore past and present hurts and challenges, as well as what you hope lies in store for the future. I believe we all have strengths and I will work with you to discover yours. I am passionate about instilling hope with individuals and look forward to helping you discover yours. My special interest this uncertain season is supporting healthcare professionals and educators.
