I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD / ADD, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders and addiction issues. I'm certified in Dialectical Behavior and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. My goal is to help guide you towards your own life worth living goals. Those goals are where you see yourself in three months to one year in a positive way. I work with you on addressing any difficulties with emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships you may be experiencing in a nonjudgmental and accepting manner and promote change when appropriate. I look forward to getting to know you!
If you are reading this, then some part of you is ready. Perhaps ready to move on, to understand more or to do things differently. Our problems, when given our attention, often become gateways for needed change. Trust yourself and start talking. Therapy is something you do when you care about yourself and your life. Although current evidence-based treatments are the foundation of my work I value a mind-body connection and offer a holistic and integrative approach to therapy.

She is a trauma informed therapist specializing in Women and children’s mental health. Her specialized training in, EMDR, DBT, PCIT and mindfulness, offer her a wide range of treatment modalities. Her hope for private practice work, is to focus on her specialized training, and meet the needs of her families with the quality of a smaller practice.
I work with individual adults on body image issues, intuitive eating/diet recovery, anxiety, depression, grief, career burnout, and stress. I'm pre-licensed and recently graduated, which means I'm still on a learning journey, too. What you get from me is my own experience and the expertise of my clinical supervisor (which is like having two therapists for the price of one).

Coping with stress related to the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as managing the mental health and psychosocial considerations can be very challenging. Don’t do it alone. DPCS is also open for more customary, client issues, for example: relational issues, symptoms of anxiety and depression, grief/ loss, etc. While I prefer face-to-face counseling sessions, due to COVID-19, during this time of limiting social contact to preserve the physical and mental wellbeing of all of our Fargo/ Moorhead community members and DPCS staff, I am grateful we have the option of telehealth available to us.
Individuals are often given advice by those who have not taken the time or had the ability to understand the issue. My goal in therapy is to understand the concerns and challenges from your perspective. Only after a relationship based on trust, empathy, understanding, and at times even humor has been built, can I help you achieve your goals. Everyone deserves individually tailored treatment. If this approach seems to be a fit, please schedule an appointment. If for some reason it seems that I can't help you, I will do my best to help you find someone who can.
Let me be a part of your path to healing. Psychotherapy is a source of healing and change. We often find ourselves repeating the same patterns without knowing why or understanding how to break free of these unhealthy cycles. By working together with my clients, we can identify and begin to understand these patterns and get to the underlying root of where and how they developed. This process helps to give my clients better understanding of their own emotional experience, thoughts, and behaviors.

We all encounter times in life where we are unexpectedly thrown off balance. Maybe you have recently suffered a jarring or traumatic event, or are going through a transition that feels more difficult than you had imagined. Or maybe past traumas or hurts have come roaring to the surface, impacting the way you relate to your spouse, your children, friends or family. Therapy offers a connected space in which you can develop awareness and insight into the relationship between past and present, gain resources for regulating stress and other overwhelming feelings, and weave new patterns of relating to yourself and the people you love.
I am passionate about helping you heal & grow. I provide a comfortable, non-judgmental & supportive atmosphere where you can process difficult emotions, gain awareness of what keeps you in suffering, & integrate newfound insights to bring relief. I am sensitive to the ways your past experiences & future anxieties impact your present. When traumatic events or unexpressed feelings are left unattended we can become identified with these states and depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship problems and self-sabotage can arise. It can be difficult to make changes & overcome obstacles without support, new tools or insight.
We all deserve to be the happiest and healthiest version of ourselves. Taking the first step to reach out for support and entrust someone to walk beside you in this journey can feel incredibly vulnerable. My aspiration is to create an open environment from one human to another where you feel seen and safe to show up authentically. You are the true expert on your life and I want you to leave each session feeling empowered. Together we can create space for self-exploration, build a foundation of skills to help anchor through difficult times, and include humor (when appropriate) along the way.
Together we attend to concerns and uncertainties, “what ifs”, and possibilities for enduring change. We work with intention to make possible the softening of stress, fear, or worry. We watch for the budding return of relief, clarity, ease, and hope. Potential shifts make possible the lessening of physical symptoms, as well as allowing for fear to settle; for intimacy, creativity, and inspiration to flourish; for thinking to clear and decisions to be made, action taken, and a deep sense of aliveness felt.
I work with couples, families, and individuals to find their strength, helping to guide them towards healing and a better tomorrow. My work with couples and families is designed to strengthen their relationships. I also work with individuals experiencing the pain of depression, dealing with anxiety, those struggling with the weight of grief, having trouble getting past anger and much more. My passion is to help others grow relationships and become stronger individuals.
I strongly believe that all people have the capacity for positive growth and change. As a Licensed Psychologist, I strive to provide my clients with support and guidance to achieve the growth they desire in their lives. I hope to assist my clients in developing skills and strengths that allow for an improved sense of satisfaction and success, in all aspects of life. I work hard to develop trusting relationships with clients, by providing a safe place to explore and process emotions and challenges. I enjoy working with individuals, children, adolescents and families.
My counseling philosophy seeks to find the root of issues, rather than only focusing on managing surface-level symptoms. I incorporate positive psychology, Attachment theory, Family Systems, and Jungian analysis- including a focus on Personality Types, as identified by the Myers-Briggs (MBTI). I believe change occurs in therapy when the client is able to identify the things that are holding them back or distracting them from finding fulfillment in developing their true self. My work as a therapist is to partner with you on your journey toward wholeness as a safe, consistent, trustworthy listener and helper.
*Currently accepting new clients for both in-office sessions as well as HIPAA compliant online video therapy. As a trained teacher and psychotherapist, I am passionate about the growth process and believe in everyone’s ability to make changes in a supportive environment. I work to increase self-awareness and resilience to better navigate relationships and other aspects of life. I utilize a strengths-based, mindful approach to help you cultivate the life you desire, and to help you move from surviving to thriving.
It is my life's purpose to help people discover their potential and transform themselves in order to enjoy the fullest life possible. Together we will uncover and utilize your strengths to find solutions in a compassionate, respectful, and non-judgemental way. Providing my clients with a supportive, creative, and caring environment is essential to me. I value the connection I have with my clients, and I am grateful and passionate about my work. It is tremendously rewarding to witness and share in my client's healing, growth, and transformation, and to watch them thrive.
