My name is Minjee (민지; she/her), and I am an Asian/Korean American woman and a first-generation immigrant. I am passionate about helping women of color explore their self-identity, improve their self-esteem, and work through potential family trauma. I believe that therapy is most effective when the therapist and client have a strong connection. Many people describe me as gentle, compassionate, and understanding, which I believe are essential qualities in fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship.
I approach therapy using an integrative style, with a strong focus on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). DBT has been shown effective for treating conditions like anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and interpersonal difficulties. It incorporates skills such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
In addition to DBT, I incorporate holistic interventions like art and music to offer clients creative ways to express themselves and process emotions.
