I have been a therapist since 1996, I founded Shining Through Counseling because I think everyone has a story to tell and needs support on their journey to wellness. Everyone's path looks different, and that is what makes us unique. Walking that path can be scary and hard. I do this by building a trusting relationship, and working together to address current and past issues or trauma, processing through them, building and strengthening coping skills and supports. I am passionate about psychology and aim to provide effective assistance for those struggling with mental health. I focus on humanistic, critical, and community psychology and value the importance regarding individuals personal and lived experiences with mental health. I find that the individual’s relationship with their struggles shapes their perception of the experience. I understand that it can be difficult to understand your own struggles at times and I work to assist individuals in understanding this.
