With over 25 years of experience, Mr. Burks earned graduate degrees with honors in Clinical Counseling from Adams State University, Management and Leadership from George Washington University, and Mind-Body Medicine with an emphasis in Integrative Mental Health from Saybrook University. He also studied in the Clinical Psychology doctorate program at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Depth Psychology. He has studied in graduate programs at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and the University of Santa Monica. His breadth of unique academic accomplishments and clinical training lends to a truly integrative treatment approach.
Therapy promotes an approach to working through disturbances by employing diverse experiential exercises and exploring issue resolution. Therapy is both engaging and challenging. Through insight, one understands their issues and opportunities for growth. Through changing behaviors, thoughts, and motivation, one grows.
Therapy is guided by a customized integrative approach for each person. Psychoanalytic theories, behavioral modification, mind-body medicine, and contemporary experiential therapies influence the focus of the work to create insight and behavioral changes.
