Many people experience interactions with others that leave them feeling "broken." They want to understand why they think, feel, or behave the way they do. I have a strong belief that no thoughts, feelings, or behaviors are "bad." They are simply communicating an unmet need. Our brains are wired through our early experiences to respond to connection, distress, and healing in relational contexts. Behaviors that once helped us stay safe in earlier relationships can become maladaptive in new contexts or relationships. Understanding why we do or feel what we do, helps us to find a path to change and healing.
I work with families, couples (monogamous or poly), children (all ages), and individuals facing behavioral, relational, and/or emotional challenges, utilizing an attachment-based, neurobiology-informed approach. I specialize in the impacts of intergenerational trauma with expertise in relationships, play therapy, parenting/co-parenting, and sex therapy.
I approach each therapeutic relationship collaboratively with warmth, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the capacity for growth and healing.
