Our stressful lives and unhealthy patterns can get in the way of a full expression of potential. I call myself a "facilitator for conciousness growth spurts." Working from a Mind Body Spirit perspective, I help my clients identify their goals, release past trauma, learn new perspectives, and access inner motivation to make the changes to achieve them. If you're inspired to grow, I'd love to help you do it.

Waitlist for new clients
By using EMDR, Hypnosis, Mindfulness, CBT, and some DBT I strive to get you back on track quickly.
Taking Clients for a Waitlist Ony! Do you feel stuck, anxious and depressed and wonder what is wrong with you? Personal crisis, work burnout, the loss of a loved one, and stressful situations like those of 2020 make life even harder. Just deciding to change, talking yourself through it or “pulling yourself up by the boot straps” doesn't always work. Sometimes your pain is deep and rooted in the past. Maybe it’s not clear to you and held in your subconscious. That is often a normal outcome when we don’t get the support we need in our time of struggle. I will be offering groups for hypnosis stop smoking and weight loss in Feb

My approach is integrative and holistic, blending mindfulness, CBT, EMDR therapy, and somatic (body) awareness to help you feel empowered and begin to find relief of symptoms.
Symptoms of depression, anxiety or trauma can feel like they define you. Maybe you've tried therapy in the past without making much progress. Or maybe you are a new mom who feels like you are "going crazy" and are worried you will never feel like yourself again. I specialize in supporting pregnant and postpartum women along their unique journey. I know what it's like to feel stuck and unsure that you can get better. Whatever has brought you here, know that you will be welcomed and seen for who you are. And...that you hold within the power of choice to try something different- to move out of what is no longer serving you.

I utilize internal family systems, EMDR, attachment focused therapy, mindfulness and presence, and somatic approaches to promote inner healing and nervous system regulation.
I specialize in working with trauma, grief and loss, and attachment issues. I have experience working with adults, teens, and children who’ve experienced domestic and sexual violence, those struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and relationship issues, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and folks who’ve struggled with addiction. Many of my clients work toward acknowledging and grieving the past so moving forward feels possible. I know counseling can be scary. This is why we move slowly and intentionally, making sure counseling doesn't just feel hard. There are moments of joy and celebration in healing too.

Your symptoms of anxiety, depression, and anger are your body's way of telling you something's not right! As a child, you may have experienced some sort of failure in your relationships or environment. As a child you compensate for these traumas by creating strategies for survival. Maybe you are a perfectionist, or maybe you find that you give more than you receive, or perhaps you just feel disconnected from yourself and everyone around you? The pain you are experiencing is real, and coping with it just isn't working anymore.

Could your trauma experiences be leaving you with feeling the pressure to be perfect all the time, making sure everyone around you is happy and "good", and you’re physically exhausted from it? Unhealed trauma can result in you second guessing yourself and your decisions, struggling to identify your emotions, finding it hard to rely on others, and feeling like you’re just not good enough. Does this resonate with you? I work with driven, people-pleasing women trauma survivors eager for lasting change who are struggling with the lingering effects of trauma, subsequent relationship anxiety, and painful overwhelm in their body.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
