Welcome to my counseling practice; I know that it can take a lot of strength to make that initial call, and I especially enjoy working with those who are new to therapy. I am a licensed professional counselor with more than 20 years of experience working collaboratively with clients to provide mental health treatment for a number of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, anger, and life transition and aging issues. Using an integrative mix of evidenced-based therapeutic techniques, I offer in-person counseling sessions at my office in New Haven, and telehealth services statewide.
I have extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. Learning ACT principles and the core Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills will help you to continue to build a meaningful, values-directed life.
As a former lawyer, I’ve been proud to continue to serve the legal community through LCL-Connecticut, providing counseling help and substance treatment to numerous Connecticut attorneys and law students. I have experience offering similar help to physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals in need of treatment who are in the HAVEN program.
