You don't want to fight with your partner. But no matter what you do, you can't seem to avoid it . . . and you can't seem to stop fighting. You're walking on eggshells, and everything you do seems to set your partner off. This can't go on. You need to figure out how to make it better. If you’re struggling to find the right things to say or the right things to do to make your partner happy, I can help. I help couples stop fighting and start communicating.

Through gentleness, creativity, humor, and mindfulness strategies, we will move you towards presence, health, and wholeness.
You are unlike any other being that exists. You are a creative force. You go against the grain and it might feel like you don't fit in. Society has tried to box you in for so long that you've pushed away and hidden little parts of your soul. You may have numbed your feelings and ignored your heart's desires as a trade for comfort, stability, acceptance, and normalcy, but this is what I know for sure: we all have an innate healing capacity within us waiting to be unearthed, seen, and nurtured. Deep healing comes from exploring and strengthening the connection with ourselves, others, and the world around us.

I draw from a unique blend of modalities, including Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CBT & DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, mindfulness skills, and somatic work.
Life is a journey, often filled with moments of feeling stuck and uncertain about ourselves and our path. Therapy provides an opportunity to pause, reflect inwardly, and connect in order to gain clarity and work towards meaningful change. As your therapist, I bring warmth, compassion, respect, and humor to our work together. My aim is to create a safe environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. Together, we will personalize an approach that encompasses all aspects of human experience: body, mind, spirit, and relationships.

My approaches to therapy include Mindfulness-based therapy, IFS parts-work, EMDR, and body-centered awareness.
Embarking on the path of healing and self-exploration is an act of daring. Perhaps the search comes from a place of despair or struggle, yet it is through this gateway of pain that we may find greater meaning and self-compassion. In the process, we may make a friend we have always longed for, ourselves. I would be honored to support your journey of self-discovery and change. I work with individuals, both adults and adolescents. I work with LGBTQIA+ and am adept at navigating issues of gender/sexuality. I am also certified to practice Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), which can relieve distress and accelerate healing.

I use mindfulness meditation based practices to help my clients build evidence based skills to move through their issues and into inner strength.
Struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or however your distress manifests makes us feel trapped, in cycles of outbursts or avoidance, and coping in ways that are not sustainable. We blame ourselves bringing us further from feeling connected and closer to feeling ashamed. Typically what we see on the surface is mistaken for ourself and is our way to cope with the issues that lie underneath. Therapy is creating a compassionate and purposeful environment to dive into deeper issues, seeing how these issues present in daily life, and developing relevant skills to free ourselves from these issues.

You will sense my mindfulness attitude as I walk you through how breathing effects your polyvagal system.
Courage is the foundation to every client's work. Whether you are making a life decision, addressing your or helping your family member/ love ones' with their psychological struggles, or striving to become who you are and do what truly matters to you... Often times, courage may be disguised as anxiety, fear or painful indecisiveness. Reach a better understanding, through testing or mapping out where you are, and really listen to your symptoms/ guides. Then I encourage you to plant courage through forgiveness and compassion so that you can practice, acceptance, confrontation, working through, and letting go.

I tend to practice from a CBT point of view, but I also utilize aspects of DBT, Mindfulness, Feminist therapy and Gestalt therapy.
I'm currently accepting new clients and have a few evening openings available! My passion in counseling is working with people who identify within the LGBTQ+ community or within the BIPOC community. Outside of these communities I also enjoy working with people who struggle with chronic health problems, depression, anxiety, and trauma to name just a few. If you are looking to discover more about yourself, figure out how to live your most authentic life, or learn ways to overcome your past and embrace your future, I would love the chance to connect with you.

I specialize in interventions such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, grief work, mindfulness and EFT.
There is never a better time to take the first step than the present and therapy begins with a trusting relationship between the client and therapist. Coping with issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, work stress, burnout, grief and relationship obstacles that cause challenging and painful emotions and thoughts can be overwhelming. Life stressors and unexpected life changes can feel debilitating and you are not alone. A non-judgmental and supportive environment where you feel heard and understood is important. You are not just another appointment on the schedule and I believe in connecting with clients on a deeper level.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
