Mindful Movements, PLLC

1118 Sam Newell Rd, Suite D-4 and D-5, Matthews, NC 28105
Let's Connect (704) 703-2152

Many of the people who find their way to Mindful Movements have already tried to work through things on their own. They are high-functioning, capable adults, physicians, executives, teachers, parents, who have been carrying something for a long time and are finally ready to address it at the root.
Our practice is built around one core belief: lasting change requires more than coping strategies. It requires understanding the patterns, the history, and the nervous system responses that have kept you stuck and working through them with a clinician who is trained to go there with you.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where life is headed, you’re not alone. Whether you’re navigating anxious thoughts, heavy emotions, or just feeling disconnected, therapy can be a space to slow down and begin making sense of it all.
My approach centers on creating a safe, judgment-free space where you can explore at your own pace. Together, we’ll build trust, identify what matters most to you, and take small steps toward a more grounded, meaningful, and authentic life.
I believe growth begins when we stop avoiding and start turning inward - with compassion and curiosity.

Parenthood and adulthood can bring deep joy. It can also bring overwhelming stress, anxiety, and constant pressure to hold everything together. These two sets of emotions can coexist in our hearts, bodies, and minds. You may feel stretched thin, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of how to care for yourself while caring for everyone else. Perhaps you’re navigating a major life transition, adjusting to parenthood, or feeling stuck in patterns of worry or burnout. I work with adults, focusing on maternal and paternal mental health, navigating the emotional demands of caregiving and everyday life.

Most of us have spent enough time trying to hold it all together, power through, overthink it, fix it, numb it, optimize it, or pretend we're fine. If you're a capable, high-functioning person who is quietly struggling in ways that aren't always visible - you're in the right place. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, impostor syndrome, depression, identity shifts, and life transitions. Many of my clients are college students and professionals who are high-achieving on the outside but privately exhausted, stuck, or disconnected. Here, we pause, deepen awareness, and transform.

You may feel like your emotions are intense, unpredictable, or overwhelming at times—like things shift quickly and you’re left trying to make sense of it all. Maybe your relationships feel complicated, reactions feel bigger than you want them to be, or you find yourself stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you’re not “too much.”
I specialize in working with individuals who experience strong emotional reactions, sensitivity to triggers, and difficulty regulating mood or responses. The good news is—these patterns make sense, and are changed with the right support.

Sometimes life gets hard. Maybe in the past you’ve felt like you had it all together, but for whatever reason, you are feeling a bit lost, and a bit unlike yourself. You’ve been trying to find your way to a feeling of normalcy, but you can’t seem to get there on your own. You want to talk to someone, but you aren’t sure if your friends or family would quite understand or be able to help.

Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and I want you to know that you don’t have to face it alone. For the past twelve years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals navigating anxiety, depression, addiction and general life stressors. I'm here to support you as you move through those challenges.

Are you feeling stuck repeating the same cycle over and over again? Are your usual ways of handling stress not working anymore? Are you struggling in your relationship with your partner, family, or friends? Maybe you know something needs to change but you are feeling powerless to make that change. At some point we all encounter difficulties in our life and feel unsure of our next steps. This is common but can feel lonely and isolating.

What is the difference between seeing a “therapist” and having lunch with your best friend, or favorite family member? You can tell me EXACTLY what you think and what you need. What you think and how you feel matters. It is very important to me to respect and empower everyone to enable the confidence needed to make life changes.
I approach therapy with a combination of humanistic and cognitive-behavioral modalities. I believe two people showing each other respect and caring equates to mental and emotional health. If you agree, we might be a good fit.
We are going to create WINS in your life and relationships!

The chance to be heard and seen with warmth and compassion is what I strive to provide in my therapy sessions. We’ll work together at a pace that you are comfortable with in a collaborative conversation that validates your life experiences. It may take some time to build trust but my hope is that you can speak unfiltered about whatever life circumstances have brought you to therapy.

I understand that therapy can be overwhelming for some, so I’ve worked diligently to become effective in creating a compassionate and judgement free space for individuals aged 14 to 65. Although my specialty is couples and family therapy, I am experienced with working with individuals who have autism, individuals who have experienced grief/loss, victims of abuse, and maternal mental health. It’s my goal for each individual that I meet with to feel safe, empowered and inspired to work towards personal growth.
