With over thirty years of experience as a clinical psychologist, I have developed a style of therapy which is integrative, meaning that I adjust my mode of therapy to your unique needs, selecting from a range of effective techniques. This allows me to reduce the amount of time to reach your goals. From the first session, I will strive to genuinely connect with you in a way that makes you feel safe, heard, and respected. I am especially focused on working with clients having depression, anxiety, obsessive/compulsive disorder, high functioning autism and trauma. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and older adults.
I am trained in a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches including, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), rapid eye movement desensitization therapy (EMDR), somatic/attachment therapies, and psychodynamic therapy. I stress positive psychology which aims toward the realization of your full potential.
My therapy is relationship based, requiring a commitment from both of us to do the work needed to remove obstacles to your pursuit of a meaningful, fulfilling life. Therapy involves not just symptom relief but also enhancing your unique gifts and strengths. I find witnessing my clients heal and grow to be the greatest reward of my profession.
