In a nonjudgmental, warm and supportive atmosphere, I will help you explore the things that are causing you stress, and support you in making the changes that will lead to a greater sense of balance in your life. I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness.
I enjoy working with clients of all ages, from adolescents to geriatrics. I have experience in treating mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, ADD, chronic pain and illness, grief/loss, trauma, and self-mutilation. I have extensive training in the treatment of self mutilation, through my work with the international SAFE Alternatives (Self Abuse Finally Ends) program.
In addition to my experience as a therapist, I am a registered psychiatric nurse. I have training in recommending medications, and in monitoring for therapeutic effectiveness. I am happy to consult with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, schools, etc. I think that it is important to try various therapy approaches before recommending medications.
