My name is Militza Marin. I am a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 17 years of experience as a psychotherapist based in Northridge, California. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling and an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I provide counseling via telehealth (virtual sessions) for culturally diverse adult clients, including men, women, mature adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I have extensive experience in counseling, helping clients navigate challenges.
In the first session, I first strive to build rapport and put the client at ease by conveying a sense of warmth, serenity, and acceptance. I ask questions as part of building a connection and listen carefully to learn about the client as a unique individual with their own needs and concerns.
My goal is to develop a basis for understanding the problems, both past and present, that influence what the client is experiencing and feeling. I appreciate the first sessions as an opportunity to get to know clients and to set the stage for an approach and plan to assist them as we move forward in our therapeutic relationship.
