Hi, I'm Mika.
Before moving into private practice, I worked in a university counseling setting, where I encountered clients presenting to therapy to address a wide range of struggles and life transitions. That experience deepened my understanding of how layered and complex our idea of “wellness” can be. It underscored the importance of exploring a person’s inner world—how their past, relationships, and search for meaning intersect in the ongoing work of living a more integrated and authentic life.
I'm especially drawn to working with adults who grew up in emotionally unpredictable or disconnected environments. These early dynamics can shape our sense of safety in relationships, leaving us torn between wanting closeness and feeling unsure how to fully trust or connect meaningfully with others, as well as ourselves.
I believe life is messy, often absurd, and worth curious exploration. Play, imagination, and self-compassion are essential tools for healing and growth at any stage of life.
