Our counseling exists to serve individuals and couples through professional counseling. Our counseling goal is to impact lives on a spiritual, emotional, and mental level. Counseling also involves the sharing of personal problems, concerns, and stories with a professional who is skilled at helping the client or clients come to a resolution or solution about their particular situation. The general goals for the client are that he or she can identify the issue(s), develop a plan of action, and then implement that plan to move forward and progress in spite of their spiritual, emotional and/or mental setbacks.

Now let’s be clear: there’s nothing deficient, broken or flawed about you. Yeah you, like everyone else, has some work to do and yet consider that you came by your problems honestly. Initially those problems were a healthy adaptation to experiences beyond your level of skill. It’s just that now you’re beyond ready for a major upgrade, aren’t you?

Life is an ever-changing journey with so many pitfalls and struggles, it is hard to keep ahead. So many people find themselves struggling with low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and other issues that keep us stuck in old patterns. Ideally, I am looking for people who want to make change, even if they feel resistant to the idea right now. Personally, I look to help those individuals who are at least contemplating growth, change, and coming out of the self-constructed safety box. We are not simply looking for the light, we are searching for the source within you. Simply put, people who want to be the favorite version on themselves.

Hi, and welcome to therapy. People come to therapy to improve their lives from many different and difficult experiences. Trauma can affect people in many different ways. Using different methods and teaching tools can help improve someone's life. Trauma can be from bullying, car accidents, spousal abuse, child abuse, and other life experiences. Therapy and training give you back the inner peace you need. My approach is humbly understanding what you are going through.

OPEN availability next week! Life can be confusing and, at times, difficult to navigate. Likewise, the path to personal development and growth is not always linear. Wherever you may be on your personal journey, I will meet you there. Together, we will utilize evidence-based practices to explore any unproductive thought patterns to change the way the brain processes and responds to our environment. Our goal; to improve overall quality of life. I work from a strength-based, person-centered model, and believe the only person who can determine what is best for you is, of course, YOU!

I am passionate about helping couples, women, & adolescents who are going through the hardships life can bring us. Living in this pandemic has brought new challenges that can feel suffocating on top of daily life tasks and hardships. Avoiding painful areas of our lives can lead to addictions to cover up those feelings, however dulling the pain with harmful addictive behaviors can further add hurt to ourselves and the ones around us. We each have strengths and assets, instead of avoiding the challenging areas, I encourage clients to engage in personal growth and exploration, to dig in and discover the areas they can evolve and grow.

Everyday our mind processes information at an extremely fast rate, with social media, mainstream media and our social circle, we are constantly being reminded of who we are not, who we should be or who we want to be. This kind of pressure, added with any previous trauma or unhealthy thoughts can cause anxiety, depression, anger or other various mental health challenges. Sometimes it feels easier to address these thoughts alone, the reality is, it is always healthier to process these thoughts with an unbiased individual so that the pressure of today’s world doesn’t feel so tight.

I believe each person has the right to exist safely within their world and every relationship they hold in it. I prioritize cultivating an environment of openness, understanding, and overall “humanness” within therapy. Rather than implying I consistently know “what’s best” for my clients, I advocate for a collaborative relationship in which there is an understanding that no treatment is ever “one size fits all.”

How can I find a therapist in Michigan?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
