We receive constant messages that if you are not feeling happy something is wrong. But is this fair? Over 50% of us will suffer with a mental health condition in our lifetime! This suggests suffering is not pathological, but rather a universal experience. The fact you are human guarantees you will experience pain. Sadly, sometimes our well-intended efforts to avoid pain can unintentionally lead to more suffering. Across time we can lose touch with what matters to us most and our quality of life goes down. We can become stuck in an unnecessary battle with ourselves, and all the while life continues to go by.
No matter what you are struggling with, it make sense. I believe the entirety of our life experiences has led us exactly to where we are. Our thoughts and actions have worked for us in some way in the past, or else they would not have developed. The problem is, they may no longer be working or may have begun to cause more harm than good.
My approach is about helping you learn how to reclaim your life while also honoring what it means to be deeply human. Through our work, I will help you reconnect with what truly matters to you, help you sidestep thinking traps that get in the way, and teach you how to hold your emotions with compassion so you are able to build the life you want to be living.
