When you or a family member are struggling emotionally, it can affect all aspects of your life. My therapy practice is dedicated to helping adults, kids and families tackle the issues that are causing them stress. I find that therapeutic support can help people get through rough periods and keep them on track for healthy development. My specialties are in the areas of adult mood difficulties, adolescent stress, and clinical social work supervision. I also provide short-term CBT-I, an evidence based treatment for chronic insomnia.
I combine psychodynamic understanding with a practical problem-solving approach. This means that I guide clients to better understand themselves, their lives, and the root causes of their difficulties. At the same time, I collaborate with clients to find concrete strategies to improve daily life. I find that this combination can help people get "unstuck."
My work is informed by solid training and 30+ years of experience in a variety of excellent treatment settings. I provide individual therapy, family therapy, and supervision for social workers. My office is a peaceful spot in downtown Columbia, convenient to the university campus and area highways. Telehealth available throughout S. Carolina.
