Susan Samaroo As a therapist, my passion is to help children, adolescents, and adults manage their emotions and support them as they navigate through the obstacles of life. These obstacles may include anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, and relationship issues.
I believe in developing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients while using the modality of therapy that will best fit my clients' needs. I have been a school counselor for 12 years where I have collaborated closely with parents and teachers. I have assisted them in providing social/emotional and behavioral support for the students.
In my private practice, I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment that displays caring and acceptance. The modalities that I use include Solution-Focused therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), and Child Centered Play Therapy. I hold certificates as Grief/Loss specialist, and Trauma/Crisis specialist.
