Hi there, I'm Michelle, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a background in Theatre Arts. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and children in a variety of settings. I prefer to work with populations 18 years and older, specifically dealing with anxiety/depressive symptoms. My approach to psychotherapy varies and is dependent on "where the client is" as well as what the situation calls for. Although I prefer Family systems, Existential and Person-centered approaches toward therapy, I am flexible with respect to my approaches and often merge theatrical and theoretical techniques.
I have a relaxed communication style when engaging with clients, and I would describe it as " conversational" in nature.
During the client's first session, I will introduce them to my brand of therapeutic interaction (welcoming/non-judgmental/encouraging environment), briefly go through confidentiality/limitations, and invite them to share details about themselves and their unique struggles.
