Michelle Kelley, PhD, LCSW, is a licensed counselor and the owner of Warrenton Women’s Counseling Center in Warrenton, Virginia. With over 35 years of experience working with women, couples, children, and families, Michelle blends her advanced education, lived experience, and heartfelt guidance to empower her clients to build emotional well-being, healthy relationships, and lives filled with confidence and compassion. Throughout her career she has guided thousands through the complex landscapes of grief, burnout, trauma, relationship strain, identity shifts, and the powerful work of setting boundaries.
In my work with couples, I focus on helping partners move out of patterns of conflict and disconnection and back toward emotional closeness. I provide a supportive framework for healing, rebuilding trust, and creating lasting connection. Relationships thrive when both partners feel heard, respected and understood.
I am also a certified GRIEF specialist who understands how difficult it can be to reach out for help when you are grieving. Often, words cannot fully capture the depth of our pain, and the loneliness of grief can make it hard to imagine letting someone in. My role is to sit with you in that confusing and tender space so you don't have to carry it alone.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
