I think of the therapeutic relationship as a workshop where clients can plan, tinker, experiment, test, and refine parts of themselves, their relationships, and their lives with my unwavering support. It's a place and time where we can collaborate on what might need to change, what tools are necessary for the task, and on the ways it might begin to unfold. I create and hold a safe place for clients to ponder, practice, and consider change-- especially when they struggle to maintain that space for themselves. As a trauma informed practitioner, I am able to ground and contain intense affect to help clients feel held.

I treat individuals, couples, and families. I help individuals build a resilient sense of themselves, navigate transition, and work through disappointments. I help couples improve their connection and communication with each other. I help siblings/ adult children and their parents resolve conflicts and relate to each other from their shared adulthood.

I also work with clients struggling with complicated grief over the loss of a pet/companion animal as these losses are sometimes hard to grieve. My style is empathic, friendly, open, direct and pointed when needed, and emphasizes possibility, practicality, hope, humor, and incremental change. I'm a LGBTQIA ally and welcome you where and as you are.
