I appreciate the process of counseling--the insight that can be gained through the therapeutic relationship can foster positive, sustained change over one's lifetime. There are many struggles that we face in our daily lives and I see counseling as a way to determine how we can develop resiliency to overcome these situations and learn transferable skills for future challenges. I enjoy working with clients that are seeking meaning and perspective in their lives; I believe clients that are successful are open and honest and have the capability to live an authentic life.
I work with a wide range of individuals and families. In individual work, I utilize a person-centered approach where I meet my clients where they are in their lives in order to establish goals. This approach is also helpful for families that are struggling with life transitions and relationships.
I have worked with a number of transgender and gender non-conforming clients, both individually and within a family setting. I have had specialized training in working with this population and am familiar with gender-confirming processes.
