I work well with individuals ages 10 & up, couples and families, and I am now seeing clients after hours on a limited basis. I am trained in the treatment of eating disorders and reIated concerns. I have also worked with many couples with marital and other relationship concerns, and I have worked with many families dealing with divorce, substance abuse and parenting concerns. I have also worked with individuals on a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, emotional and behavioral concerns, academic concerns, relationship concerns, anger management and codependency.
Having been a high school teacher for 15 years, I work well with adolescents. Having grown up in a home with alcoholism and having been through divorce myself, I am familiar with many issues surrounding marriage and family. I am certified in the Prepare/Enrich marital/premarital program. I am also a cancer survivor.
With a dual masters degree in pastoral and clinical counseling, I am able to address religious and spiritual concerns as desired by the client. I tend to employ a client-centered approach to therapy, but my work is more directive with couples and families and varies depending on client needs.
