Announcement icon I am accepting a limited number of new clients at this time. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, all sessions will be conducted virtually.
Often there is hesitation and fear when we take those first steps toward seeking help. Many people envision a therapist as a disconnected observer; however, my clinical approach is very relational and collaborative, meaning you and I both work together toward your healing. Once we've established a foundation of trust, my style tends toward creative and playful, as I feel the role of laughter is often undervalued in the therapeutic process. Our struggles are not silly, but we human beings often are. People typically enter treatment expecting tears, and they often come, but joy is equally powerful and cathartic.
I have extensive experience working with pre-adolescent and adolescent girls, as well as young adults. I enjoy supporting parents as they navigate the many transitions inherent to that role. I am highly skilled in treating complex trauma, working with survivors of sexual violence, and LGBT individuals.
The main treatment modalities I utilize include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Mindfulness approaches and artistic expression are integrated into treatment whenever possible. I look forward to meeting you and helping to facilitate your journey to a more peaceful, self-aware, and joyful place.
