I provide mental health care to adolescents and adults with a focus on grief, loss, and working through life changes, transitions, and challenges. My practice is person-centered, so the counselor (Michelle) follows the client (you). I may come to session with ideas for interventions or questions in mind, but these sessions are for you. I follow what you would like to use your sessions for, and work with you to create therapeutic goals. We may work on building coping skills, increasing self-esteem, or adapting to changes.
Emotions are an incredibly body-based experience. I practice within the theory of Somatic Counseling: Dance/Movement Therapy because of its framework that acknowledges our bodies have knowledge that is worth listening to and taking care of.
I aim to meet clients where they are and bring a greater awareness to supports through a reconnection to the body, sensation, feeling, play, movement, and breath. I look forward to walking alongside you in your journey.
