I have worked in the psychiatric social work field for over 15 years in both England and the United States. I have worked with adults with a wide range of mental health difficulties. I have experience treating adults with anxiety, depression, trauma as well as other mood, psychotic, and substance abuse disorders. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to educate individuals on their symptoms, the roots of those symptoms and how to challenge, cope and work through them. Working as a therapist has taught me that the basis of creating a good working relationship is the connection with each other.
Connection builds safety and trust, which provides the platform for good therapeutic work. Without that, you might as well be talking to your dentist with your mouth full. Give yourself the opportunity to experience a different type of therapeutic relationship.
