I'm committed to helping kids and families experience greater enjoyment in their relationships and increased competence and resilience at home, school, and play. I provide treatment services to children ages 0 - 13, parents, caregivers, and families. Using a strengths-based approach to focus on what is working, I develop practical interventions to address concerns about a child's attention, learning, behavior, and social and emotional development, and to help families who are feeling stuck find new ways of relating.

I specialize in treating children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and provide individual therapy and support groups for parents/caregivers of children with disabilities/special needs.

I have worked with children, families, and people with disabilities across the lifespan for over twenty years. I honor diversity in all its forms and strive to make every person with whom I work feel welcome, affirmed, and respected.

Michelle Avery Ferguson's Groups

Group for Parents School-age Children with ASD

Parenting a child with special needs can be isolating and lonely. Families of typically developing children are often unable to relate to the challenges of parenting a child on a different developmental course. This group will provide an opportunity for parents and caregivers of children with a diagnosis of ASD to share with others who can relate to, validate, and affirm their experiences.

New ASD Diagnosis Parent Group

Learning that your child has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is overwhelming. Parents grapple with a range of emotions, and have a million questions about how the diagnosis will impact their child and family. Connecting with others can help to reduce the isolation and loneliness that many people face. During this 6-week group, we will share experiences and learn stress reduction strategies. If you're a parent of a child who was diagnosed within the last year, this 6-week group is for you.
