My journey as a Clinical Social Worker has encompassed 30+ years of practice. I have had the privilege to work with children and families as well as with adults in a variety of different settings. I have a strong background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and expertise working with trauma survivors and with those who have experienced vicarious traumatization. My approach can best be described as integrative and holistic. This means that I rely upon various psycho-therapeutic methods and evidence-based models that are combined to create a personalized approach to our work together.
Some techniques I utilize include: Somatic Experiencing, CBT, Humanistic Psychology, Buddhist Psychology and Mindfulness training. The philosophy that guides my practice includes the belief that each of us possesses the inner resources to heal and that at our core is a purity that remains untouched despite our painful experiences.
We offer counseling for individuals, couples & families as well as groups, classes in mindfulness, workshops, trainings and retreats for professionals (human services, law enforcement, first responders & health care), consultation and training to organizations and special retreat offerings for care-givers (professional & family).
