I have been treating patients for more than twenty five years.
My area of specialization involves the treatment of loss, grief, trauma and the anxiety disorders that sometimes accompany these events.
Traumatic events can bring a host of overwhelming emotions that people may not have the skills to cope with effectively.
I endeavor to bring insight into the nature of trauma and introduce skills that help people to cope more effectively. Once this is accomplished, I work with people to help them find more balance and meaning in their lives.
My theoretical approaches are predominantly psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral. I draw from the most effective elements of different theoretical orientation’s that lead to change. Each person has their own history and their own difficulties, so this enables me to tailor a treatment approach that is unique to you.
Major life events can make our lives feel disrupted. Some people find they are highly distressed after a traumatic event.
If you have found it difficult to address your concerns on your own, it may be helpful to consult with a professional.
