Whether you're new to therapy, looking to start again, or in the mental health field yourself, welcome! If life feels overwhelming right now, and you find yourself unable to turn your thoughts off or shutting down often, then together we can work on making them feel more manageable. If it's that grief, anxiety, or depression are really loud, then we can work together to make them feel less intimidating. We can also work on communication skills, relationship patterns, setting boundaries (knowing when to say no or when to push yourself), and helping you recover from and managing burn-out so that you don't feel trapped.
Some main ways of thinking that I lean towards are: compassion-focused, psychodynamic, attachment styles, and emotion-focused. I've been described by clients as having a positive unconditional regard, direct, and being able to challenge them to help take steps toward growth. My clients have also enjoyed utilizing Brainspotting in their sessions.
My goal is to create a place where you can feel seen, safe, challenged, and supported, so that we can create lasting change. My approach leans toward being more direct and inquisitive, making sure any challenging is done with compassion. I also give homework at times to further growth outside of sessions.
