I am very practical. I help people recognize patterns of behavior that are no longer working for them. I help people gain perspective on their situation. I offer immediate ideas and possible solutions to problems. My job is to understand where you are coming from and help you get where you're going. When I work with couples the goal is to create a positive and supportive way of being together. I love animals, am an avid gardener, and love to read and learn about people's unique experiences and cultures. I am studying Emotionally Focused Therapy and practice this with couples and individuals.
My most important job is to understand you. Then I help you understand yourself. From there you make your own decisions about what is best for you. I am a generalist in practice and do not focus on a specific type of therapy. I have studied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, couples therapy, relaxation techniques, anxiety and depression management and EFT.
