Dr Karl Menninger said, "Love cures people - both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it." This reflects my reason for becoming a psychotherapist. I am familiar with being the client, and the difficult work of transforming from who I was into who I am today. I know from those experiences, how important it is to create a welcoming and compassionate environment for those who choose to undertake this work for their own personal growth. I am truly blessed to share in the life of another in this mystical way, and cherish the opportunity to do so.

My approach is collaborative and existential. My faith in myself and others comes from an inner knowing that we are being supported by a higher source. After addressing my own healing, I sought to bring my faith, experience and clinical expertise to others through my psychotherapy practice.

My heart is in my work. I genuinely care about the people I work with, and I try to be my best and do my best on their behalf. This requires that I go to my own therapy and clinical supervision regularly, and that I continue learning my craft.

Michele Lucas's Groups

Live From The Heart

The heart is an intelligent organ, just as the brain is. The HeartMath Institute has developed tools to help people access their innate heart intelligence. In this group you will experience how these tools can change your approach to life, improve your health, your personal relationships, and much more.

More about this group

Safe and Connected

In this group we explore the influence of the 3-tier human nervous system on our mood and behavior. The first tier is about safety and connection, the second is about response to fear, and the third is about collapse. This system is interconnected and unconscious, and reacts to environmental cues (internal and external) before a thought appears. With didactic information and experiential exercises we learn ways to negotiate this system more consciously: shift our mood and redirect our behavioral patterns; and have fun doing it. For more information, contact Michele.
