I see psychotherapy as being like this-most people have it within them to know what they need or want, but something has kept them from feeling free to live life to the fullest. Most people come to see me when they are feeling that important parts of their lives (love, work or play) feel disappointing or "stuck." The "chisling" in therapy is you and I together discovering what is holding you back and identifying so many more choices than it may feel that you have now.
**Tele-mental health services available** I am a clinical social worker and psychoanalyst. I am deeply interested in how personalities develop and how we create narratives about what is or is not possible to experience in life. At the same time, I am also trained to integrate therapeutic approaches that actively decrease symptoms and increase coping skills.
I graduated from the University of Michigan School of Social Work in 1989 and finished post-graduate psychoanalytic training from the Michigan Council for Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis in 2011. 25 years in a general private practice; other diverse clinical experience in emergency mental health; medical settings (oncology); and, suicide prevention.
