I'm Shelley (she/her). I earned my Master of Education degree in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College in 2012. Since then, I've been independently licensed in Indiana since 2014, in Kentucky since 2020, and now also in Colorado. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with both adult and adolescent clients in community mental health and private practice settings. I specialize in working with individuals who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I help my clients navigate mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, and life transitions.
My approach to therapy is rooted in a feminist psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction perspective. I deeply honor the therapeutic relationship, believing it to be vital to the process of change. I work collaboratively with my clients, creating a safe and supportive space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment.
I have a great deal of passion for working with those who have experienced spiritual, sexual, emotional, and/or physical trauma. I offer person-centered care and believe change takes place within the therapeutic relationship. Building the relationship is the center of my therapeutic work.
