I have a Master of Arts in Counseling and have been counseling adults, children, teens, and families since 2008. Working with clients struggling with anxiety and grief and loss is a special interest of mine, but I have experience treating a wide variety of issues including depression, adjustment, self-esteem issues, crisis, domestic violence, abuse, and trauma. I am Certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I am also an EMDR Consultant-in-Training (EMDRIA).
Working with children and adolescents using play therapy and expressive arts/activity-based therapy is a passion of mine. I primarily use a child-centered approach to play therapy (focusing on creating a safe and accepting relationship with the child), with integrated directive activities and interventions. I offer EMDR Therapy for children.
Relationship and rapport are crucial in the therapeutic process, and I am very interested in learning about my clients' needs and expectations for therapy. My clients take a leading role in exploring their hopes and fears for therapy and then establishing personal goals.
