My name is Michaella, and I am a bilingual (English/Korean) Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University in Texas. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision.
I specialize in trauma-focused treatments, emphasizing grounding skills, healthy coping mechanisms, and cognitive processing of the triggers and trauma history. I believe that opening the “memory box” must be followed up by developing appropriate skills to close it, preventing retraumatizing. I draw from theory-oriented DBT, RODBT, and CBT.
