IN OFFICE & TELEHEALTH SESSIONS AVAILABLE. The characteristics of an effective seasoned clinician oftentimes is one who appreciates the importance of both empathy and commitment in being a therapist. My practice specializes in the treatment of adolescents and adults who present with behavioral and emotional problems caused or made worse by substance misuse. This work often involves family members in order to compile a comprehensive assessment and develop effective solutions to the presenting problems. I believe these factors coupled with motivation of the client makes for a situation filled with hope and possibility of change.
Clinical experience which can be offered to my clients include having been a Clinical Director for adolescent substance abuse and mental health treatment programs in both Manhattan and Staten Island which utilized effective research based treatment. I currently am a field instructor for counseling/social work students to stay contemporary with new advances.
I had formal Graduate School training at NYU School of Social Work, where I received an MSW degree & a Post Graduate Training Certificate from the Doctoral Program as well as specialized state certification in addiction treatment. These come together with a genuine sense of caring and empathy to help create an effective outcome for those I work with.
