Michael Whitehead is not currently accepting new clients.
I have been practicing therapy since 2007. I work hard to make sure that I understand the needs of those I serve while providing therapy that is informed by your values. I look at the challenges that may bring you to therapy as symptoms of a biological, psychological, social, or spiritual breakdown. My therapy is focused on looking for solutions from each of these contexts. I have experience working with people of all ages and a variety of issues in my work with families, couples, individuals and children.
My specializations include child directed family therapy, developmentally appropriate parenting practices, handling marital conflict, and the process of finding one's self. I have training and experience in child-directed play therapy and help parents learn this play as a way to connect with their children.
I am one of only two Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor's in the Twin Falls, Idaho. This credential comes from the Association for Play Therapy and highlights the extra experience, supervision, and training that is required to utilize Play Therapy effectively. Professional Connections

If I were seeking a therapist who works hard to understand my needs as an individual or part of a couple or family, I would choose Michael as my first choice. I have seen his amazing work with clients during our training at MSU's Couple & Family Therapy Clinic and have witnessed how quickly he brings calm to an emotionally charged situation, provided excellent therapeutic services to families & couples, and provided excellent training that is based on research and clinical experience. Michael's expertise in issues related to parenting, family therapy and couple's therapy is evident in his work with clients and also as a clinical supervisor. If you are searching for a family, couple, or individual therapist who strives to understand your unique situation in order to provide you with quality care, my first recommendation is Michael Whitehead.
