I’m Michael Tavolacci, a Resident in Counseling with a strong educational background and diverse clinical experience. I earned my BA Summa Cum Laude and my MA in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University. I’ve worked in university counseling centers, co-facilitated expressive art sand-tray groups for anxiety, and supported male survivors of sexual assault. With a background in nursing and medical care, I take a holistic view of mental health. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults using a compassionate, integrative approach.
I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, life transitions, stress, and self-esteem. My approach blends person-centered, humanistic, and strength-based therapies, creating a supportive space for self-exploration, insight, and meaningful growth.
I strive to be inquisitive, understanding, and present with each client, helping people reconnect with their inner strengths. Originally from Westchester County, NY, I now live in Northern Virginia. Outside of work, I enjoy rock climbing, skateboarding, exploring new music, and searching for great local coffee.
