My goal is to build self-esteem and to create a sense of empowerment in each person with whom I work. My work is with all ages through various modalities, including play therapy, games, crafts, and traditional counseling techniques. Children and adolescents are guided to develop effective techniques for navigating the issues and concerns that are encountered during the developmental and formative years. Similarly, I work with adults in showing how to work through the various obstacles and difficulties - both internal and external - that are encountered throughout life.
I have 20 plus years of direct counseling experience. Additionally, my work experiences include foster parenting, long-term residential care (child/adolescent), care/case management, emergency shelter care (child/adolescent), and private practice. While I work with all ages, my most prominent and effective work is with children (ages 6-12) and adolescents.
Every person I counsel, receives an initial clinical assessment, beginning with customized personal goals for his unique situation. Additionally my objective is to ensure that each visit will be in a comfortable and safe setting during the course of counseling.
