I make it a point to focus on the client.. So many people are not used to talking about themselves, and that's OK. I don't think I'm not good at that either. People come to me when they feel out of sorts. Sometimes the problem is not being able to say what the problem is, only that something doesn't feel right.
I start by listening and observing. Once clients feel comfortable and safe, they increasingly give details about what they're going through.
What I can do is listen, and observe. That may not sound like much, but it can be the entire world. This is where the reflections come from.
I don't think that I have a specialty. Even with three years of practical experience, I still consider myself new. I use tools from different theories and modalities.
I learned from experience that my clients know way more about their lives than I ever could. What I do is point out things that clients themselves don't notice.
I've been told that I had a soft, laid-back style. This is most likely from the experience of being an introvert who learned to talk to other people.
