I have 30 years experience working with ages 18 and older. I believe in the wholistic approach, working with an individual's mind, body, and spirit. I like to teach practical ways of coping with the outside world and empower my client to assert themselves to get their needs met. I have worked with various diagnoses throughout the years, including mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and dual diagnosis. I also work with relationship issues, grief, codependency, and work issues.
I have worked a lot with the elderly who are dealing with loneliness, coping with health issues, and grieving the loss of loved ones. Clients who are having adjustment problems to difficult situations, such as adjusting to gender issues, adjustment to being divorced, and living alone after long-term relationship.
I strongly encourage my clients to practice meditation and mindfulness techniques to cope with stress. I have a wonderful exercise to deal with forgiving others and forgiving self. I like to empower my clients which increases their self-esteem, becoming more assertive, and getting all their needs met.
