Dr. Michael Gottfried enjoys working with adults, adolescents and couples on a wide range of issues. His work with clients centers on improving their view of themselves and improving their relationships with others in order to resolve issues of depression, anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem. Particular areas of specialization include working with men and with young adults.
Dr. Gottfried has supervised and trained graduate students and has taught psychology at the graduate and undergraduate level. He has conducted and published research on masculinity. In addition to therapy, Dr. Gottfried presents to community groups, teaches and conducts psychological testing. He is Past-President of Psychotherapy Saint Louis and the St. Louis Psychological Association.
