Maybe that change relates to ongoing patterns of negative thinking, unhappiness, overwhelming anxiety, depression, self-criticism, feeling stuck, or procrastination. Or maybe it is unmanaged stress, physical pain, poor sleep, difficulty in a relationship, or trauma from the past affecting life in the present.
Much of the time, change requires us to attend to our suffering, to actively engage with it. And that doesn't always sound pleasant, it takes courage.
My approach in therapy works by first embracing and fostering what is authentic, true and whole in each of us. From here, we engage in an active process of exploring unhelpful reactive patterns in the mind-body connection that lead to suffering, and call upon sensorimotor and mindfulness-based practices such as MBCT or MBSR to step out of unhelpful patterns.
Whatever your patterns, my hope is that our work together brings more groundedness and contentment into your life by tuning into how the mind and body can become caught in reactive cycles related to stress and post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, pain, or suffering - and together discover and create more intentional and balanced ways of responding.
