I'm a Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping clients with a variety of mental health and life challenges. However, I've shifted my focus to providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) after my own struggles with falling and staying asleep. The American College of Physicians (ACP) and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) both recommend CBT-I as the initial treatment for chronic insomnia in adults. Despite CBT-I being the recommended first choice for treating chronic insomnia, many people spend years dealing with frustrating, poor-quality sleep before they discover it.
