Sometimes life gets uncomfortable, and there may be days where it feels like you expend all of your energy just getting through the day. I will work with you to not only ‘look back’ at the choices, events or biological factors that may have caused the current distress or situation, but also gently guide you to a place of personal change and healing.
I work with a variety of issues which include stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and behavioral or relationship issues. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as well as a host of other therapeutic interventions to help you tap into the strength that you already possess to move forward.
As a therapist, I have been in the field for over 20 years and have practiced in a wide variety of settings, which have included: community mental health, the corrections system, inpatient psychiatric care, residential care and school settings. I take a client centered-solution focused approach, working with adults from 18 years of age and up.
