Many of us walk through life without feeling truly listened to or deeply understood. So often, we seek belonging and to be perceived, but receive judgement or unwanted advice in place of understanding. Hi, I'm Mia, a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with children, teens, and adults in school and behavioral health settings. I have experience working with individuals of all gender identities and cultural backgrounds. As a neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clinician, I am especially passionate about providing neurodivergent affirming care and LGBTQ+ affirming care without the “double empathy problem.”
I conceptualize therapy as a process of sifting through one’s past, connecting the dots of how it affects our present, and using this insight to shape one’s future. Sometimes, the issues we face in the present also need addressing independently of this deeper work.
