Hello there. It can be hard to know where to turn to for help or who to trust, and just as hard to ask for help in the world that we live in. Sometimes life can be uncertain, difficult or scary. You don't have to face life alone. As someone who is a full-time wheelchair user, I have learned the importance of having hope, working towards one’s goals and facing life’s challenges head on. We'll work together to reach your goals in a warm, open, safe, and nonjudgmental environment.

Life can be really difficult and sometimes we need someone to hold space and witness the struggle. I am honored to hold space and walk alongside my clients as they learn about themselves and their capacity to grow and change. It is an honor to bear witness to people showing up and doing the hard work of facing what is causing the pain in their life.

I am especially passionate about walking alongside members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies, providing a space where authenticity and identity are honored.
For the past 16 years, I have supported children, adults, and families impacted by trauma, complex trauma, and attachment disruptions. I also have extensive experience working across all ages with concerns such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and the stress of life transitions.

My goal is to journey with you in times of difficulty and in times of victory, while providing space to be yourself and feel supported. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important piece of therapy; therefore creating a safe and welcoming environment will be a priority. I value a collaborative approach, which means we will work together to make sense of the concern(s) that led you to seek out therapy. I hope to come alongside you and facilitate personal growth and empowerment in the face of life's challenges by offering empathy, support, and hope.

Carol Rodgers once said If we are able to accept ourselves just as we are, then we can change. Likewise, I believe that everyone has the unique ability to discover significance within themself. This path to personal development is often found within the context of meaningful relationships. A therapeutic relationship can offer helpful guidance towards radical acceptance, profound healing and transformational growth.

Life is like a ball of yarn. It starts wrapped up nicely in a neat fashion. As time goes on it becomes tangled, knotted, and difficult to unravel. My goal as a therapist is to help you unravel those difficult emotions and encourage you when it seems like the knot will never come undone. I use body work, mindfulness, and person-centered approaches in my practice. During sessions we may sit on the floor, move our bodies, grab a cozy blanket or have a warm cup of tea. My goal is to help you find a place of peace in life.

I enjoy working with women during different life transitions, from pre-teen girls to women aging and growing into themselves during menopause. Often my clients are parents navigating an autism diagnosis of their child, youth struggling with executive functioning or school stress, late-diagnosed autistic women, or helping professionals (such as teachers, nurses)facing burnout, and adoptive families adjusting to complex dynamics. They often feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or exhausted from masking and over-functioning. They want practical tools, clarity, confidence, stronger relationships, relief, and to know they are not broken.

I specialize in helping people who are tired of being everything to everyone, couples who can’t seem to stop arguing about “nothing,” and "everything," trauma and/or anxiety that just seems to keep coming up, and children who swear they don’t need/want therapy, but secretly appreciate talking to someone who is not their parents' for an hour. My therapy style is down-to-earth, collaborative, and infused with just enough humor to make the hard stuff feel a little lighter. I am here to help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and how healing begins when we feel truly seen, heard, and supported.

Therapy can be a way to work through difficult life situations, manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, or other conditions, or a way to explore new avenues of coping. I believe counseling works best when both the therapist and the client are actively involved in the process. I believe therapy should be catered to the individual and the client should be seen as a whole person rather than broken apart into their symptoms.

For over 20 years I have been involved in the mental health system and have had the privilege of helping individuals & families achieve their goals and overcome a variety of challenges (i.e. depression, anxiety, mood disorders, new transitions, relational, & substance use struggles). While speaking both English & Spanish languages, my hope is that each individual I encounter will gain a better understanding of themselves, and also learn valuable skills to move forward towards a more fulfilling and flourishing life.

My ideal client is someone who’s been carrying the weight of expectations, identity, and survival for far too long. They may come to counseling feeling unseen or disconnected, yet holding a deep desire to heal, to rest, and to live more authentically. Together, we create a space where every part of their story is honored, where pain and resilience can coexist, and where healing feels rooted in culture, community, and self-love.

I use a holistic approach to help people develop a deeper understanding of themselves on all levels. The process of therapy is a great tool to help you grow when you are ready to do the work and unlock your innate capability to explore yourself. Therapy is about being there to help people explore their histories, uncover patterns and make choices to let go and move forward. If you are struggling because life has given you obstacles with communication and connections, I want to help you take back your life.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
