My approach to the counseling process is to provide a non-judgmental, empathic, and compassionate atmosphere where clients and I work collaboratively to explore and improve areas of concern that are impeding growth and daily functioning. I believe the counseling process encompasses the wholeness of the individual(s), taking into consideration the impact of emotional and psychological aspects along with relationships, family, and community on the individual(s) and their self-view.
I operate from an eclectic approach, but primarily utilize theories grounded in humanistic, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused orientations.
My goal is to provide clients with a supportive and trusting environment where we can explore concerns, develop goals, and discover strengths and resources while moving toward desired outcomes. I strongly believe the therapeutic alliance promotes change and I value working from a place of compassion, authenticity, and collaboration.
