I really understand how uncomfortable anxiety, worry, sadness and depression can make you feel. I am one of those who can help. I have over 40 years experience helping people feel better and feel better quicker. I have an additional expertise in the treatment of mild to moderate forms of OCD (ie, OCD that can be effectively handled in weekly therapy; more severe forms of OCD require a different practice than I conduct). If you are like me, willing to work hard and put in the time, then together we can improve your life.

We all need support sometimes to help us cope with the struggles in life. For some, depression or anxiety have made life a daily struggle. For others, chronic relationship issues may be the stressor. Some have experienced traumas and are unsure how this affects their lives; they only know they feel miserable. Some people are just looking for support or to "de-stress" or feel "good enough". Therapy is not about "just talking", but rather understanding the reasons why we developed the patterns we have, and then learning how to think and act in a different way to create a happier life.

I love working with teens struggling with self esteem, I love working with parents, and I have a personal passion in working with women struggling with postpartum depression .
Coming to therapy is like drinking coffee with an old friend, except the difference is that this friend listens very closely, does not react negatively to what you say, and only provides productive feed back. Who wouldn't benefit from that? As a therapist I provide a comfortable and safe place for you to talk through some of those difficult moments in your life. Sometimes life is just hard and you just need a little extra help.

Young adulthood can be one of the most challenging times of life. From the demands of school/work, to relationships and friendships – there’s a lot to juggle. All of this can leave you feeling anxious and depressed . Life’s challenges can feel impossible to navigate on your own. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, you get blindsided. Maybe it’s a breakup. Maybe it’s the loss of a job. Maybe you begin to question your own values, your path in life, or realize you no longer have things in common with the people you once knew. Whatever your struggle may be, I want you to know that I’ve been there and that there is hope.

I see clients dealing with anxiety, depression , co-dependency, coping skills, self-esteem, life transitions, grief, crisis management, post traumatic stress and geriatric issues.
I help my clients separate their thinking from their feelings, to be able to see what is real from what they are feeling, that is, what is going on inside of them introduces an opportunity to live without anxiety, fears and depression . Feelings can be confused for reality and it is helpful to be able to recognize the difference. In today's world, I see clients who may change careers, positions, and life styles more often than one has in the past. To find one's place, meaning of life, comfort and personal best are ongoing life goals, one can achieve in a safe environment.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
